Dr. Wood is a native of the Houston area, attending The Kinkaid School, completing his BA at Rice University, and obtaining his Medical Degree at UT-Houston. Dr. Wood's interest in business motivated him to return to Rice University for his MBA. His advanced degree made him perfect for the role of managing partner of Southwest Surgical Associates, a position he currently holds in addition to continuing with his surgical practice. He specializes in minimally-invasive laparoscopic general surgery and is committed to providing his patients with the most state-of-the-art surgical care. He and his wife Amy, also a physician, have three lovely children. Dr. Wood enjoys traveling and spending time with his family.
