BCBSTX pays physicians in the Houston market well below the national average. Southwest Surgical Associates wants to request fair pay for the quality services we have been providing to the Houston area for over 25 years. In order to better effectuate a rate increase, we believe that your advocacy on our part can assist us in accomplishing our goal of increasing physicians’ rate of pay.

Consider how your own premiums, deductibles, copays, and total out of pocket costs have increased over the last 10 years. Has BCBSTX explained to you where this money from the increased deductibles, copays, and total out of pocket costs is going? Are they using it to pay physicians rates? You are entitled to ask this of your insurance company.
